Competition Area

Ume River in Kattisavans and Blåvikens FVO.

Lapland Pike 2017 will be held in 2017 with Kattisavan Camping as a base. This scenic camping ground is situated right next to the E12 and the Umeälven within the Kattisavans FVO, about 35 km north of Lycksele on road E 12. The area is easily accessible and well equipped with trails, wind shelters and boat launches. Umeälven has large pike/perch and a weak stock of harrow and grayling.

The competition area also includes the Umeälven / Blåviken (part of the Umeälven) within Blåviken’s FVO. This is the municipality’s largest FVO and almost virgin in terms of targeted pike fishing. The area is wide-ranging, sparsely populated and holds big pike. The area starts about 40 km northwest of Lycksele and has a number of suitable places for kayaking and boat launch.

In this FVO is also one of the municipality’s finest fly fishing waters, Paubäcken, with a fine stock of trout and grayling. From 2017 this is a nature reserve where the fishery is mainly managed by Pausele FVO. The rules have been tightened significantly, and from 2017, especially, fishing licenses, no worms policy, and minimum length requirement applies. Do not miss the opportunity to test this long wild brook in connection with the competition. The area is well equipped with trails and roads. Note: This is naturally occuring fish, not implanted fish. Protect this unique stock by abiding by the rules.

The registration for Lapland Pike 2017 is closed.
